When Stuttgart was dedicated to be a harbour town 50 years ago, Karl and Berta Epple were delighted. They thought it a wonderful idea to give the Stuttgartonians and their guests from all over the world the chance to cruise on the river Neckar. In 1957 they founded the Neckar-Personen-Schiffahrt Berta Epple. At the opening of the Harbour in 1958 their fleet was plying the new water.
Ten years ago Wolfgang and Susanne Thie came to the fore. They re-named the fleet Neckar-Käpt’n and led it successfully into the modern times. With a rejuvenated fleet, an attractive offer of cruises and services they welcomed over 6.7 Million guests on board. So everyone may feel young again: The 50 and the 10 year olds.
